You may remember when we wrote in previous blog entry about the all-new, updated Lamborghini Gallardo that was unveiled at the recent Paris Motor Show.

Well, now that the Paris show has come and gone, it gives enthusiasts like those of us at Lamborghini Dallas the opportunity to reflect on what our favorite automaker had to present, besides the strategy for its new Gallardo line which included drivetrain differentiations based on styling cues.

And as it turns out, projects in the works for the Italian automaker include the continuing development of its Urus SUV, even though it has not quite been green lighted yet.

Nevertheless, Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini CEO and president, is pretty confident that the project will be approved by its parent company, Volkswagen. "It [the Urus] has been well received both at Beijing and at clinics in America and Europe," he says. "The point is that it is not a replacement vehicle, but a new vehicle and as a result we will be relying on the group to go forward."1

The caveat, however, according to Winkelmann, is the fact that even if they do get the go-ahead and approval from VW and are able to start the Urus project, immediately, the new design still won't be ready until 2017.

Luckily, Lamborghini Dallas is here to provide you with new information about the Urus and other new Lamborghini models as it arises. For this, we encourage you to stay tuned to our blog and for automatic updates, to subscribe via your RSS feed.
