Last month we talked here on our blog about the current Gallardo models that are in production being the last to be made by our Italian supercar manufacturer. These final supercars will soon be available here at Lamborghini Dallas in Richardson, Texas, and bidding them a farewell will be sad, but there is a silver lining.
Out with the old and in with the new, that's what Lamborghini is doing with the Gallardo. There has been talk of the new replacement for some time now, but the Italian automaker is always very good at stymying rumors and keeping their models under wraps.
At first it was said this new model would be the Cabrera, but that rumor was quashed recently. Lamborghini will officially release details around Christmas, and a reveal is expected at the upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
As of right now the only details that have been leaked came from the website Only the Best when they took a recent tour of the brands factory. From their report the Gallardo replacement will have a unique rear window and a grille similar to the iconic Lamborghini Miura.
Other than that we heard the rear will resemble the Aventador's design, and the name will carry LP600-4 in it.
Our sadness of the Gallardo leaving production is definitely somewhat assuaged by the new model that will replace it. We cannot wait for the reveal to take place in Geneva, and March cannot come soon enough.
