Here at Lamborghini Dallas, we think that these lyrics from the chart-topping single "Smack That" Akon, are a pretty good indication that since its debut, the Gallardo has become ubiquitous with success and accomplishment. Now, it is unfortunately time to say goodbye to this great Lamborghini as the last-ever model has finally rolled off the assembly line.
The Gallardo was first introduced to the public back in 2003, and since that first year, 14,022 Gallardo models were produced by our favorite Italian automaker. Before the Gallardo came to fame, Lamborghini built about 250 models annually. Since the introduction of the Gallardo that number has jumped to 2,000 units annually.
The Gallardo has been sold in more than 45 countries worldwide, and each customer who ordered their own model could customize it from top to bottom making it exclusively 'theirs'. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the company which makes it a good time for the brand to close the Gallardo chapter of its history and start a new one titled Cabrera.
Oh, and that last model to be built in the Lamborghini factory was a Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante that sported a Rosso Mars (red) paintjob.
