In the fourth edition of the Lamborghini World Final, held on Valencia’s “Ricardo Tormo” circuit, Dennis Lind overtook Loris Spinelli eight minutes from the end of Race 2 to claim the win after the safety car entered the track. With the victory, Lind established himself as the new European champion of the 2016 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo as well as the 2016 World Champion in the PRO category.
Lind, in his debut season in the one-make series for Huracán Super Trofeos and a member of the Young Drivers Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, produced a second place finish in Race 1 to pair with his Race 2 victory.
Andrea Fontana and Lorenzo Veglia won the PRO-AM with a second place finish in Race 1 and a win over Andrea Dovizioso in Race 2.
Adrian Amstutz, the driver of the team Bonaldi Motorsport, won the European title in the PRO-AM category along with the Finn Patrick Kujala and became world champion in the AM class by winning both World Final races.
American Ross Chouest snagged the top step of the podium in both races and was named world champion in the Lamborghini Cup.
The World Final of Valencia marks the finale of a successful season for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, which established a record of 50 cars on the grid in July’s Spa-Francorchamps. 2017 events will include the three continental series in Europe, Asia and North America, the Middle East series and the World Final in November at Imola.
