Recently, Lamborghini announced a new racing program for 2024, introducing the Lamborghini GTP prototype program. This announcement marks the first time since 1993 that Lamborghini has entered the top level of a motorsports division, with the last being an engine builder in Formula One.

the new program aims to compete for the overall win in the most prestigious endurance races the world over, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of Daytona, and 12 Hours of Sebring. Lamborghini has said this marks an important milestone for the company, introducing a hybrid race car to take on the best in the world. The introduction of this new program coincides with Lamborghini's introduction of its first hybrid model, the Sian.

While there has been no announcement of the powertrain, it will deliver over 670 horsepower and feature a common electric motor.
