Lamborghini Squadra Corse is set to kick off the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship racing season this weekend, with the Huracán GT3 making its debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The V10 powered Huracán GT3 was born from a desire to offer factory-built and supported cars to customers worldwide," stated a recent press release. "It is the first GT3 car to be fully engineered, developed and assembled internally by Automobili Lamborghini."
Expectations are high for the GT3, as the car enjoyed a successful 2015 in Europe, with victories at the Blancpain Endurance race last May, and the ADAC GT Masters in June.
Five V-10 Huracán GT3s will compete in the GT Daytona (GTD) class, the largest representation by any manufacturer in the GTD class. The action starts this Saturday, January 30 at 2:40 P.M. EST
